Whereas gameplay is mostly similar to the previous titles (two of which can be found in\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eParodius\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003efor the Saturn and the final in\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eKonami Antiques MSX Collection Ultra Pack\u003c\/i\u003e), every aspect of the game has a running commentary, from the menus to the game itself. This commentary is in Japanese and has never been translated, which, along with the numerous Japanese references, may explain why the game was never brought to the west.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe game offers a selection of new characters, some of which replace those found in the previous title,\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eGokujou Parodius!\u003c\/i\u003e. The Saturn version of the game (along with its\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ePlayStation\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ecounterpart) introduces several new levels not found in the original SNES release and tweaks many bosses and graphics.
